Private Equity allows investors to participate in the growth of privately held businesses, targeting higher returns over the long term than those averaged by public equity markets. Private equity investors typically sacrifice the liquidity found in public equities for the possibility of higher returns over longer term horizons. Investors participate in private equity via private partnership structures which invest in privately-held companies. Private equity opportunities are diverse and span a wide risk spectrum ranging from Venture Capital to more conservative strategies such as Leverage Buyout and Mezzanine.

Real Estate investments seek to offer attractive risk-adjusted returns, potentially low correlations with other traditional asset classes and occasionally a hedge against inflation. Real estate investing offers exposure to physical properties and assets, including debt positions and other parts of the capital structure. Investment decisions are often impacted by particular geographies, local market conditions and property specific factors and as a result may be less liquid and transparent than many other investment vehicles.
